Browns Bay Pier - 1930's

The wooden pier was constructed in 1910, and was used by steamboats from Auckland City ferrying cargo, livestock and passengers. Traffic increased when the Bay became popular with day-trippers and tourists.

Unfortunately, a major storm in 1936 damaged the pier beyond repair, and it was eventually demolished.
